Delete your account
You can delete your Reelery account and everything in it at any time. It happens immediately, and it cannot be undone.

Option 1: from inside the app
This is the fastest route, and it takes effect the moment you confirm.
- Open Reelery on your iPhone.
- Tap the account button in the top-right corner of the home screen to open Account.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when asked. Your account and everything in it is deleted at once, and you are signed out.
Option 2: by email
If you no longer have the app installed, or you cannot sign in, email support@reelery.app from the address you signed up with, and ask for your account to be deleted.
- Send it from the email address on the account. That is how the request is verified. If you signed in with Apple using Hide My Email, send it from the relay address Apple gave you, or say so and you will be helped another way.
- You will get an acknowledgement within a few days, and the deletion will be completed within 30 days at the outside, and in practice much sooner.
- No reason is needed, and you will not be talked out of it.
Cancel your subscription separately. If you subscribe to Reelery Pro, deleting your account does not cancel the subscription. Apple bills it, not Reelery, and only you can stop it. Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone, choose Reelery, and tap Cancel Subscription. Do this before deleting your account, so you can still find it easily.
What gets deleted
All of it, in one operation, with nothing left behind for later cleanup:

What is kept, and why
- Encrypted database backups, up to 30 days. Deleted data can persist in routine backups until those backups age out, normally within 30 days. Backups exist to recover from disaster and are never used to bring a deleted account back.
- The shared reel cache, indefinitely. Reelery caches the public caption and extracted recipe for each post, keyed on the platform's own public identifiers, so the next person to share the same reel does not pay to process it again. That cache contains no user identity, and nothing in it records who shared what, so there is nothing of yours in it to delete. It is public content from those platforms.
- Purchase records Apple requires. If you ever subscribed, Apple retains its own transaction records under its own policies, for tax and legal reasons. Reelery has no control over those.
Getting your recipes out first
Deletion is permanent, and there is no export button yet. If you want a copy of your recipes before you go, email support@reelery.app from your account address and you will be sent a machine-readable copy of everything Reelery holds about you, free, within 30 days.
